Music really speaks to the heart, and making music comes from the heart! I love "making music with my friends" and - I've come to find out - it's even better when those friends are family!
I grew up playing in bands. The first band I was in was called "Patchwork Security Blanket" - what can I say, I was only 12 years old. . . But, by the time I was in high school, we were playing gigs all around the area. (And, no, we no longer went by "Patchwork Security Blanket). My friends and I had some really great times and I know we brought a lot of enjoyment to others.
I continued playing in bands through the years. Rock and Roll was my first love, but I also played in Bluegrass and Country bands. I loved them all! My greatest opportunity, however, was when my daughters began to play music. They were quick to learn and for several years we were known as the "Dusty Boots" band.
I loved those years, but they went by way too quickly! Before long, my daughters were married and going all different directions. We still did gigs occasionally when we could work out our schedules.
BUT, all of my daughters are back in my local area again, "YIPPEEEEEE!!!!" so we are looking for opportunities to make some music! I love it! (We are doing a few jam sessions on Saturday mornings, but it's tough quiting after only an hour). - The Guitar Guy.
